Granny Feng, of Xianyang City, China, is convinced that her cat has been blessed, and on first glance, it’s not  hard to understand why. The tom cat has, over the past month, been growing what appears to be a set of wings. These wings contain developed bones in them and began as two small bumps but progressed quickly. They are now 4 inches long, and Feng proudly declares that she owns “an angel cat”, blaming female cats for their development. According to her, they are a reaction to the fact that the female cats in the neighbourhood are in heat and have been giving her pet sexual attention that he feels is harassment.

Doctors, quick to dispel the idea of a sainted cat, believe that the phenomenon is more likely caused by a gene mutation, and that at this stage, it doesn’t appear to pose a threat to the cat’s ability to live a healthy life.
